Congratulations
to the Woodbridge Strikers U10 Boys who managed to dominate both divisions in
this years Spring Thaw Tournament to make it an all Woodbridge finals. Woodbridge
A went undefeated and allowed 0 goals against in making it through to the finals
while Woodbridge B managed to win 2 out of 3 in the round robin and allowed only
1 goal. The finals was a scoreless battle until the 17th minute mark when Woodbridge
A managed to draw first blood on a spectacular shot from just over the half way
line. Both teams continued to give it their all and provided the crowd of spectators
with a great example of how Woodbridge plays soccer. In the end Woodbridge A managed
to score 3 more unanswered goals to be crowned champions. On
hand to watch the effort, as part of the new Scuola Calcio philosophy to take
a more active role in team development by observing games, were trainers Gianni
Cimini and Sami Gideon. Both Gianni and Sammi have been working with these boy's
since they were 7 years old and deserve much of the credit for their skills development. The
club would like to congratulate Coaches Pat Lista, Gil Salerno and their staff
for a fine effort.
